Members of the Punta Gorda, Belize community began to meet in January of 2008 to form a local Rotary Club. The Rotary Club of Punta Gorda was officially chartered on 17 May 2008, and celebrated at our charter night on 21 June 2008. We meet every Thursday morning at 7am at Grace’s Restaurant on Main Street in Punta Gorda Town.

Our Club is proud to have been able to make a difference in Punta Gorda and the Toledo District.

We have completed several projects, many with partners from other Rotary Clubs around the world. These include School Feeding Programs, Furnishing for Hillside Healthcare Center, Dental Equipment, Park painting and clean-up, Dictionaries for students, helping with landscaping at the Library, painting the PG civic center, a water system for Graham Creek village, a playground in the Hopeville area of PG Town, a wastewater garden for the PG Hospital, solar latrines in flood prone villages, a new 3 classroom school building in Otoxha village, High School Scholarships, and so much more! We will try to keep adding more information on the projects pages! Check it out!

The Rotary Four Way Test

  1. Is it the TRUTH?

  2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?

  3. Will it build GOOD WILL and
    BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?

  4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all
    Concerned?

Interested in volunteering to help Toledo? We meet at Grace’s Restaurant Thursday Mornings at 7am.

My husband and I are members of the Portsmouth NH USA Rotary. We visit PG frequently because I am a board member of Sustainable Harvest International and SHI Belize/

We have been in contact with Nana about a Portsmouth Rotary third grade dictionary project. A grant is being written to include the third grader in PG. So long as we get the grant, all third graders will get dictionaries.

We look forward to working with you on future projects. Now we can attend make-up meetings at Grace’s whenever we are in PG!

Diane passed away recently, but has left the members of the Rotary Club of Punta Gorda with much love and a better understanding of the meaning of Service Above Self.

    Greetings!

My partner and I will be in Belize from December 23 through January 7th. This is our first trip and I thought I would write and ask a little about your area and whether it would be a reasonable destination if we are flying into Belize City. We are interested in kayaking, snorkeling and visiting the Mayan sites. We’re not sure if it is okay to drive (2 females traveling together) between Belize City and other destinations. Any information you can provide will be welcomed!

    Warmest regards,

    Lauri J. Stock

MI am a member of the Rotary Club of Colorado Springs CO USA (District 5470, Club 1154). We will be in Belize from 24-31 Mar 2010. I do asset protection law, and am interested in meeting legal colleagues who are also Rotarians who believe in the Four Way test and practice this type of law.
Additionally, I would like to visit the Club while I am there. Could I get a point of contact for the meeting?
    Warmest regards,
    John Buckley

    1. pgrotary Says:

      Good Afternoon Mr Buckley!
Where in Belize will you be visiting? We have a total of 9 clubs across the country. Our club here in PG is the newest and most southern. We have no lawyers in PG, but I suspect you would find in Belize City and Belmopan.

I am a Rotarian in Edmonton Alberta Canada. I am looking to link with the school in Silver Creek, Toledo, Belize. I am wondering if there is a PG rotarian who would like to assist. Contact me at andrew@rivercitylawgroup.com if interested. I want to sponsor a school.
