The Rotary Club of Punta Gorda worked with the Rotary Club of Columbus, Indiana, USA to provide furnishings to the new dormitory at Hillside Healthcare Clinic, located 5 miles outside of PG Town. The new dormitory is known as Abby’s House in memory of a young medical volunteer Abby Brinkman who fell in love with southern Belize during her volunteer time at Hillside Healthcare Clinic. The dormitory provides housing for up to 16 medical volunteers. The furnishings are now in place!

We are very excited about this project. It greatly aids Hillside Healthcare Clinic in providing medical services to the local community, and is our club’s first ever Rotary Foundation Matching Grant.

We are very excited to know that in just 6 short months from our start as a club, the Rotary Club of Punta Gorda has been able to get a matching grant approved to help improve health care in our community! Together with our partners from Columbus, we have completed this project within its one year time period.

Much thanks goes to our fellow Rotarians from Columbus, Indiana, USA for thier hard work and dedication to bring this project to fruition! This has been a dream for people both in Belize and the US, and we could not be happier!
