Our District 4250 is now part of the Future Vision Pilot Program. The above manual will help all of us to understand more about grants under this new program.
As of March 2010, The Rotary Club of Punta Gorda has 4 projects Matching Grant Projects with partners from the USA and Canada. These included: 1. Supporting School Feeding Programs with partners in Victoria Harbourside, 2. Furnishings for the Medical Volunteers Dormitory at Hillside Healthcare Clinic with partners in Columbus, 3. Piped water system for San Lucas Village with partners in Kingston – North Kitsap, 4. Wastewater treatment system for Punta Gorda Hospital with 3 partners led by Couer D’Alene.
Service is a key to Rotary, in Punta Gorda and across the world. When floods wreaked havoc on our neighbors in the Stann Creek District, the Rotary Club of Punta Gorda collected two truck loads of donated clothes, bedding, and other items and carried them to the washed out Kendall Bridge, where our fellow Rotarians from the Rotary Club of Dangriga met us and accepted the items for final distribution.

Rotarians carrying goods across the river where the Kendall bridge on the Southern Highway was washed out by flooding.
On Saturday August 30th 2008, Rotarians came out in force to work on PG’s Central Park. The Rotary Club of Punta Gorda donated our labor to assist with raking, levelling, and grading of the fill added to the park in Phase 1 of its improvement. The overall park improvement project is being spearheaded by the Cacao Fest Committee, with help from PG Town Council and the Ministry of Works.
Weeks of rains caused massive flooding in the west and north of Belize in October 2008. As the Rotary Club of Punta Gorda investigated the needs of the flood victims, the Belize Red Cross asked us to help with anti-fungal / anti-itch cream and cloth bandages. PG Rotarians donated and collected hundreds of dollars worth of these medicines to help the flood victims.

Greetings. Members of our Rotary Club visited you in March 2008 while we were working on a service project project with Socio-economic Outreach. We are also in a New Visions Pilot District (5340) and wanted to touch bases with you to see if you already have any Global Grants in the works?
